In Memoriam - composed by Bruno Coulais

Here is a beautiful piece of music. Contemporary music can be beautiful. The composer is Bruno Coulais. This piece is called In Memoriam and is part of the soundtrack of The Chorus (Les choristes) a 2004 French drama film directed by Christopher Barratier. The songs in the film were sung by Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Marc.

Bruno  Coulais also composed the score for the animated film, The Secret of Kells, a film that I enjoyed watching over Christmas.

In this video we have two versions of the In Memoriam, the first with full orchestra and the second is a capella - in which you can appreciate the full richness and beauty of the music the boys are singing.
