Sheep seeking Shepherd

I am in Donegal at the moment, visiting my family, so the blog has been quiet. So much has been happening within the Irish Church of late, and unfortunately every anti-catholic person in Ireland has been having a field day. I am almost glad I do not have the time to attempt a response on any of it. Our Church is on its knees and all around are giving it a good kicking. I was shocked and saddened, but not surprised by our Taoiseach's rant against the Church, and the pathetic media frenzy that followed, celebrating the new "mature" Ireland. But most of all I am annoyed by the silence, yes the SILENCE of our shepherds, our bishops. I keep waiting for one of them to say something. Where are you guys? On holidays??? Could at least one of our bishops attempt to lead the catholics in Ireland at this difficult time? Your people need leadership. I need leadership. Please lead! P-L-E-A-S-E!

We have been without adequate spiritual or moral leadership in the Church in Ireland for decades now - nearly all of my life.

Some of the Bishops will make public statements from time to time alright but not the type that seeks to lead, inspire or edify us, the faithful, or to defend the Church or its teachings especially when unjustly attacked. As for priests, there is only a tiny minority who do their duty and preach and teach on the most egregious and widespread sins of our society, including among baptised and those who attend Sunday Mass. It is a great scandal and we need to continue to pray for our priests and Bishops - that they will convert and begin to do their duty to save souls (including their own). We definitely don't need priests or Bishops who choose to adopt a secular role - as social worker, economist, social commentator or Church critic - and by these roles or personas seek to undermine the Church's teaching and build a public image for themselves by abusing their position in the Church. Unfortunately, the duty of those in authority to act to stop these persons has not been exercised, again for decades. We need our good priests to speak up, from the pulpits, and through the secular media. We need effective Bishops from among this cohort, and the only criteria ought to be those of holiness, and a commitment (and obviously ability)to do their solemn duty to their priests, the laity and the world at large. Extraneous considerations such as seniority, politics, etc. ought not to enter into the decision. The situation is too bad to leave us without the leadership that we need. The faithful have been crying out for leadership for too long (while society as a whole needs it badly too, especially those who have lost their faith). Priest and Bishops: please do your duty and lead us in obedience to the See of Peter! Increased reverence in and a return to the true rite and rubrics of the liturgy (in both the New and Traditional forms) will play a large part in enabling this to happen. In hope, Lynda.

Please examine the Jehovah's Witnesses who go door to door and come on our property.

Jehovah's Witnesses pedophiles.

Many court documents and news events prove that Jehovah's Witnesses require two witnesses when a child comes forward with allegations of molestation within the congregation. Such allegations have customarily been treated as sins instead of crimes and are only reported to authorities when it is required to do so by law, (which varies by state). It has also been shown that child molesters within the organization usually have not been identified to the congregation members or the public at large.
These people engage in a door to door ministry, possibly exposing children to pedophiles.

Although the Watchtower Bible Tract Society claims that known pedophiles are accompanied by a non-pedophile in such work, there is no law stating that such a practice must be followed.

The Watchtower corporation has paid out millions in settlement money already.
