According to their website RTE are supposed to,
"Operate in the public interest, providing News and Current Affairs that is fair and impartial, accurate and challenging."
From what I have witnessed in the last few weeks, specifically in relation to the nominations for the presidential election, it is obvious that RTE is seriously failing.

I can scarcely remember a time when RTE even bothered to feign fairness, impartialiy and accuracy in news or current affairs, and as for challenging - they don't understand the concept - it's embarrassing obsequiousness for those whose principles and policies coincide with theirs, and personal attacks and scorn and ridicule for those whose don't.
